Graded VG+ 45 by SGC (submitted by REA). One of card collecting's greatest classics, Mantle's #311 Topps rookie card is the key to the 1952 Topps set, one of the most famous of all cards, and the single most popular and valuable postwar baseball card. This legendary card has always been one of the great classics of card collecting. The offered example is bright and crisp, with light wear on the square corners, no creases or wrinkles, and excellent centering. Downgraded from EX due to a very faint stain in the upper left portion of the card, mostly visible on the left and top borders. The reverse is clean with bold printing. This is a tremendous midgrade example with strong visual appeal! The 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle has long been universally recognized as one of most iconic "blue chips" of all vintage baseball cards, and even just a glance at sales records clearly shows that over the years it has consistently risen in value in all grades. This card presents an outstanding opportunity to acquire an exceptionally attractive example of Mickey Mantle's most celebrated card in an extremely desirable condition, yet very possibly at a small fraction of the cost of a higher-grade example. Reserve $5,000. Estimate $10,000+.
