Mid-grade near-complete set consisting of 322 different (of 324) 1951 Bowman baseball cards, highlighted by many Hall of Famers and stars, and missing only the rookie cards of Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays for completion. 14% Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt, 67% Vg-Ex to Ex, and 19% Gd to Vg (including a few lesser). Four cards are professionally graded and encapsulated. Keys: #1 Ford RC (Vg-Ex), 2 Berra (Ex), 3 Roberts (Vg-Ex+), 7 Hodges (BVG EX-MT 6), 10 Schoendienst (Ex+), 26 Rizzuto (Ex), 30 Feller (Ex), 31 Campanella (SGC EX 60), 32 Snider (Vg), 46 Kell (Vg-Ex), 50 Mize (Nr/Mt), 53 Lemon (Ex), 58 Slaughter (Vg+), 78 Wynn (Vg-Ex), 80 Reese (EX-MT 6), 134 Spahn (Fr), 143 Kluszewski (Gd), 151 Doby (Vg-Ex+), 165 Williams (Vg-Ex), 181 Stengel (Vg-Ex), 186 Ashburn (Vg-Ex), 198 Irvin RC (Vg), 232 Fox RC (Vg-Ex), 233 Durocher (Vg-Ex), 260 Erskine RC (erased pencil on front, otherwise Ex), 282 Frisch (Vg-Ex+), 290 Dickey (Gd), 291 Henrich (NM-MT 8 [OC]), 295 Lopez (Ex), 306 Piersall RC (trimmed, otherwise Ex+), 323 Adcock RC (Vg+), and 324 Pramesa RC (Vg+). One of the great things about card collecting is that the most classic card sets can be collected in any condition, on any budget. This is a very attractive near-complete set which offers an outstanding collecting value, and a rarely offered, relatively affordable alternative to a higher-grade set of this classic early 1950s Bowman issue. Total: 322 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+.
