Collection of 103 different (out of 240 cards in set) 1949 Bowman cards, highlighted by nine Hall of Famers, including the rookie cards Roy Campanella, Larry Doby, and Early Wynn. The 1949 Bowman set has always been one of the most popular card issues of the era. Condition is 20% Vg-Ex (including two Nr/Mt outliers), 68% Gd to Vg, and 12% lesser. Keys: #11 Boudreau (HOF, Gd), 29 Kiner (HOF, Vg-Ex), 65 Slaughter (HOF, Gd), 70 Furillo RC (Vg+), 84 Campanella RC (HOF, PSA VG-EX 4), 110 Wynn RC (HOF, Fr due to tape remnants at top border), 111 Schoendienst (HOF, Nr/Mt), 175 Appling (HOF, Gd), 210 Gordon (HOF, Gd), and 233 Doby RC (HOF, Vg). This is a very attractive mid-grade collection (43% of the set) of this classic postwar gum-card issue, representing a substantial start toward the assembly of a very sharp-looking mid-grade set. Total: 103 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000.
