Graded VG 3 by PSA. Presented is a very attractive example of the 1948 Leaf Gum rookie card of Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson. The 1948-1949 Leaf Bubble Gum card of Robinson is one of the most popular, striking, and classic of all Jackie Robinson cards. The offered example displays a perfectly crisp image with flawless registration, perfect centering, and honest corner wear. The reverse is boldly printed and well centered. A horizontal crease visible mostly from the reverse is responsible for the technically accurate assigned grade. This exceptionally attractive card presents a rare collecting opportunity to acquire a modestly graded example of one of the icons of postwar Hall of Fame card collecting, and in the eyes of many, Jackie Robinson's single most desirable baseball card, at a fraction of the cost that a higher-grade example would command, without sacrificing much in the way of eye-appeal. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+.
