Two key 1940 Play Ball gum cards—Joe DiMaggio and Ted Williams—each graded by PSA: #1 DiMaggio is graded GOOD+ 2.5 (bright and clean example with a flawless image and centered slightly to the right) and #27 Williams is graded GOOD 2 (bright, crisp card with virtually perfect centering and flawless picture quality). The DiMaggio is downgraded for minor surface scraps on his torso and Williams is downgraded for remnants of glue residue on the reverse. Sometimes attractive examples of all-time classics don't have to break the bank! These cards are exceptional for the collector who wants original Joe DiMaggio and Ted Williams cards, but is not interested in spending the many thousands (or even tens of thousands!) of dollars which examples in a significantly higher grade would require. Two tremendous low-grade examples of these key 1940 Play Ball cards. Total: 2 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
