Gorgeous full-color window display poster (7-3/4 x 6 inches) advertising for 1937 R342 Goudey “Thum-Movies” Series. This is a very attractive Goudey card-related advertising display. The silhouette of the ballplayer at bat which is illustrated in the Thum-Movie booklet on this ad resembles that of Hall of Famer Joe DiMaggio. This poster originated years ago, directly from the files of Goudey. Being a file copy, the poster was never used as intended. It still has the original strips of clear glue along the vertical sides which the candy store owner was supposed to wet, so as to attach the poster to the store window. The colors are flawless. Technically in Good condition. Two clean staple holes (as is often the case with Goudey file copy materials), and a few light creases and smalls areas of paper loss do not detract from the extraordinary display value of this great rarity. Bright, fresh, very colorful, and ideal for display. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
