Graded VG 40 by SGC. Extremely attractive T213 Coupon Cigarettes (Type 3) of Eddie Collins (Chicago), one of the key cards to this elusive and extremely rare tobacco set. T213 (Type 3) Coupon Cigarettes are one of the most unusual and overlooked of all tobacco-card issues. Issued in 1919, it was the very last of the traditional tobacco-card sets. Very similar in design and borrowing images from the T206 set, T213 (Type 3) Coupon cards are believed to have been issued exclusively in the Louisiana area. The offered T213 (Type 3) of Eddie Collins is a very attractive example that presents far better than suggested by its technically accurate assigned grade. It is bright and clean, with a deep red background, and flawless registration. The corners are square with even, very light touches of wear (slightly more in the bottom left). Centered to the bottom, with an almost imperceptible wrinkle in the lower right corner. The back is clean with very bold print and a particularly desirable and rare Factory No. 8 overprint at the bottom. T213 (Type 3) Coupons are one of tobacco-card collecting's most overlooked issues. This is very attractive example of a significant and rare Eddie Collins card would be a worthy addition to any Hall of Fame, sample, or rare vintage baseball-card collection. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+.
