Graded VG 3 (MK) by PSA. The N300 Mayo's Cut Plug of Hall of Fame pitcher Amos Rusie from the New York Giants of the National League was issued in two variations in the Mayo set, with his name spelled correctly, and with his name misspelled "Russie," with an extra "s." This is the variation with the correct spelling. Bright and crisp, with light wear to the condition-sensitive edges and corners, perfect contrast, and with strong centering. The back is clean, with a light pair of wrinkles visible upon close inspection. PSA has added a MK qualifier for a light and unobtrusive purple mark near the top border. This is a very impressive mid-grade example of one of the most important Hall of Famers in the Mayo set, and one of Amos Rusie’s most classic cards, dating from the height of his career. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000++.
