In the 1930s, Wheaties issued package-design baseball cards on the backs of its cereal boxes, which were intended to be hand-cut from the boxes by youngsters. These were difficult to collect back in the 1930s (imagine getting just one card per box of cereal), and are not a lot easier to collect today! Presented is an outstanding complete set of 1938 Series 11 "Dress Clothes" cards. What makes the offered set particularly notable is the presence of hole punches along the left edge as well as the inclusion of a matching box front and display card announcing "Pictures Prove Baseball Players Eat and Like Wheaties!". It is likely that this was a salesman sample or presentation set designed to be shown to prospective store owners as a means to sell Wheaties products bearing the cards. Each of these pieces is in overall Excellent condition. Wheaties Cereal box panels are among the most beautiful, interesting, and substantial cards of the era and also represent one of the best values of all cards from the 1930s.
