Collection of three different extraordinarily rare 1928 Sociedade Industrial tobacco cards, each graded by SGC: #96 Cardinals team (EX/NM 80, highest graded), 104 Herb Pennock & Meadows (HOF, EX 60, only graded example), and 109 John McGraw (HOF, VG+ 45). Produced in 1928 by a tobacco company for issue in Angola, these cards measure approximately 1.75 x 2.5 inches and feature black-and-white images on semi-glossy stock with advertising and a brief description of the depicted scene on the reverse. Astute collectors will notice the set's resemblance to the Tabacalera la Morena series of approximately the same time. Each card is bright, crisp, and clean, with superb images. These three cards, along with the example of Babe Ruth with Lou Gehrig offered individually in this auction, are the first "Sociedade Industrial" cards we have ever encountered. This is an extraordinary collection of these extremely rare, very attractive and exotic prewar tobacco cards. Total: 3 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate (open).
