Graded EX 60 by SGC. One of only three examples graded at this level with just one higher! This is a very attractive high-grade example of one of Ruth's truly great early 1920s cards. 1921 was the very first year the legendary Exhibit Supply Company of Chicago issued cards. It would go on to issue sets for the next fifty years. These cards were sold by Exhibit card machines at amusement parks and penny arcades, one penny per card. This is the key card from the set and one of Ruth's earliest cards featuring him with the Yankees. The card is bright and crisp, with no creases, strong corners (the lower right shows a small bit of wear), and a flawless image. An outstanding and extremely highly graded example of what is universally recognized by collectors as one of Ruth’s most classic cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000+.
