Graded VG 3 by PSA (submitted by REA). Very attractive example of Hall of Famer Home Run Baker from the extremely elusive 1912 E300 Plow’s Candy issue. This unusual sepia-toned, large-format (3 x 4 inches) candy issue was not even known to exist until the 1960s, and is among the rarest candy cards of the era. This is one of the most striking and impressive of all Frank Baker cards. The card displays four square corners with just a hint of wear, flawless image clarity, no creases or wrinkles, and a small stain on the blank back. The card has been downgraded to Vg by PSA due to a tiny paper pinch in the middle of the bottom border close to the edge. This is a spectacular example, especially for the modest grade, of one of the rarest of all Frank Baker cards, from one of the rarest of all candy-card issues. Extraordinary as a sample card and a card that would be a significant addition to any world-class Hall of Fame or prewar-card collection. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+.
