Fatima Cigarettes is responsible for one of the most unusual and distinctive of all tobacco-card issues: the T200 Fatima team-card set. Presented is a partial set of ten cards (of sixteen in the complete set). Complete sets of T200 Fatima team cards are very difficult to assemble, in part because several teams are rare. The thin stock and fragile real-photo surface of T200 Fatimas makes them very susceptible to light creasing. Many collectors consider T200, and the similarly designed T222 individual-player cards, the single most condition-sensitive sets in all of vintage-card collecting. This collection consists of the following: Boston Americans (Vg), Cleveland Americans (possible repair on back, otherwise Fr), Philadelphia Americans (Gd), Washington Americans (small piece missing, Pr), Brooklyn Nationals (Gd), Chicago Nationals (writing on back, otherwise Fr), Cincinnati Nationals (Pr), New York Nationals (Gd), Philadelphia Nationals (SGC Authentic, trimmed, presents Vg+), and Pittsburgh Nationals (part of one corner trimmed off, otherwise Pr-Fr). T200 Fatimas is a set which is not practical to collect in Mint condition, and even cards graded higher than Ex are tough to come by due to their fragile nature. This set is also just beginning to be appreciated for its combination of rarity, unusual design, photographic quality, and the exceptional value it represents compared to other far more common tobacco-card issues of the era. Total: 10 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000+.
