Graded VG 40 by SGC. Extremely rare sample card of Nap Rucker (Brooklyn) from the T215 Red Cross (Type 1) Tobacco set. The highest graded of two examples evaluated by SGC! T215 Red Cross is one of tobacco-card collecting's most overlooked issues. Very similar in design to and borrowing images from the T206 set, T215 Red Cross cards are believed to have been issued exclusively in the Louisiana area. The cards measure 1-1/2 x 2-5/8 inches, which is the standard size for tobacco issues. This is a particularly attractive card, with vibrant colors, a crisp image, near-flawless registration, and light wear to the four corners (with a slight bend to the lower right). The reverse is clean, with bold crisp print, an ideal quality for a sample of this scarce issue. A light wrinkle on the reverse is barely visible on the front of the card. This is an extremely attractive sample from one of tobacco-card collecting's rarest sets. Reserve $300. Estimate (open).
