Presented is a very unusual pair of printing oddities from the 1910 T212 Obak series, both encapsulated as Authentic by SGC. 1) Scharnweber (blank back). Although it is SGC’s general policy to encapsulate printing anomalies only as Authentic, we see no signs of trimming or alteration to this card. The front displays as Very Good, with excellent centering and near-perfect registration and color. A bit of scuffing shows on the otherwise clean and unprinted blank reverse. 2) Van Buren (miscut and upside down reverse). This neatly hand cut example displays as Good, with outstanding color and registration, centering toward the top, and moderate creasing. The clean and boldly printed reverse is printed upside down, with approximately three quarters of one back showing and one quarter of the next. This very attractive pair of printing oddities would make an outstanding addition to any T212 Obak collection. Total: 2 cards. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
