Extremely attractive collection of six different N172 Old Judges, each graded and encapsulated by SGC (all submitted by REA). These six cards (along with several other lots of Old Judges in this auction) are new to the modern hobby, having been in the possession of a casual collector since the 1980s who decided that now is the right time to part with them. Each of these cards has a strong image with great photo contrast. All cards are crisp and clean and do not suffer from condition flaws on the reverse, such as paper loss, album residue, or writing on the reverse, which often "come with the territory" with Old Judges. This collection consists of the following: Bakley (14-1, Cleveland, 1888 copyright), Herr (225-1, St. Louis, 1888 copyright), Hoffman (228-5, Denver, 1889 copyright), Klusman (265-4, Denver, 1889 copyright), Richardson (385-2, New York, 1888 copyright), and Silch (419-5, Denver, 1888 copyright). This is an incredibly attractive collection of high-quality Old Judges that would be worthy additions to any N172 or nineteenth-century card collection. Total: 6 cards. Reserve $400. Estimate $1,000+.
