Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. This is the ONLY example graded at this level with none higher! Stunning ultra high-grade T206 example of Tommy Leach/portrait (Pittsburgh Pirates) with the very desirable Sovereign 150 advertising reverse. Sovereign is a scarce back, certainly not in the same league as Drum or Uzit, but very unusual and seen far less often than the standard Piedmont or Sweet Caporal advertising back. The offered example is bright, crisp, and clean, with four sharp corners and outstanding centering. The important Sovereign 150 advertising reverse is boldly printed and centered slightly to the left. This is an ideal specimen that would be noteworthy for its high grade even with a more frequently encountered Piedmont or Sweet Caporal reverse but is all the more significant for its unusual back. Reserve $500. Estimate (open).
