Graded VG/EX 50 by SGC. Presented is a very attractive example of the rare O'Hara, St. Louis Americans, T206 variation. Polar Bear was the only company to issue the rare T206 O'Hara, St. Louis Americans variation card, and T206 Polar Bears are notorious for surviving in lesser grades than T206 cards with other advertising backs. This fact is directly related to how the cards were packaged with Polar Bear tobacco, without the protection from the tobacco provided to T206 cards issued with other brands. The offered card displays bold colors, a crisp image, even wear to the four corners (slightly more to the top right), and light tobacco staining on front. Centered slightly to the bottom. This is an extremely pleasing (and, for this card, high-grade) example of one of the key significant (and in our opinion very underrated) rarities from the classic T206 White Border set. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,500+.
