Presented is a classic portrait image of Hall of Famer Eddie Plank from the prized T204 Ramly series. Plank is one of the most desirable cards in the set, both due to his stature as one of the few key Hall of Famers in the set, and the fact that the portrait is the same as that which appears on his famous T206 card. (Interesting note: The T204 Plank is much rarer than the T206 Plank.) The Ramly series is universally recognized as one of the most desirable of all the tobacco-card issues, appreciated by collectors both for its rarity and distinctive style. Plank is one of only fifteen Hall of Famers in the Ramly Tobacco set. While the card presents as Near Mint overall, it is encapsulated as Authentic by SGC due to slight trimming and evidence of added color in a few spots at the corners and along the borders. Crisp and clear, with a clean, boldly printed reverse and centering slightly toward the top, this example has outstanding visual appeal. This is a very attractive example of one of baseball's most popular Hall of Famers from this beautiful and extremely condition-sensitive set. Reserve $300. Estimate (open).
