Graded EX 60 by SGC. One of only two examples graded at this level with none higher! This is an ideal high-grade sample card of George Gibson from the extremely rare E104-2 Nadja Caramels series features a classic portrait image. E104-2 Nadja Caramels are among the rarest of all twentieth-century caramel issues. Produced to commemorate the Pirates’ 1909 Championship season, the 11-card set features exclusively Pittsburgh Pirates. The card is bright and clean, with a deep blue background and crisp perfect image, no creases, four strong corners, and centering slightly to the left. The advertising back on the reverse is boldly printed. The E104-2 Nadja Caramels set is very closely related to the E90-2 American Caramel Pirates set. Caramel cards, of course, are rarely found in high grade, making this an especially desirable sample card from this rare, early twentieth-century candy issue, worthy of the finest E104-2 set, “E” card, or prewar-card collection. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
