One of the legendary rarities of candy cards, from the E90-1 American Caramel series, Mitchell, Cincinnati, was often referred to by collectors as the "Honus Wagner of E cards" in the early days of organized collecting. Graded Authentic by SGC, this example has been slightly trimmed on all four edges. This card maintains strong visual appeal in spite of some creasing, with a bright yellow background, outstanding registration, near-perfect centering. This is a very presentable example of this legendary key rarity from the most popular caramel-card set of the era. Today collectors recognize many cards as being of various degrees of rarity in the E90-1 set, but Mitchell, Cincinnati (along with the Joe Jackson rookie card, also from the same set), will always be the most famous key rarity of the classic E90-1 American Caramel set. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
