Rare 1930s baseball lamp dating from circa 1930s. The uniquely carved wooden baseball figure, with Art Deco stylings, rests upon a wooden base, with the lamp pole positioned behind it. The piece is referred to as a "Heifetz" lamp because that is the name signed on the back of the figural carving. This is the only complete "Heifetz" lamp we can recall having seen; however, an incomplete example, without the lamp pole and shade, did surface at auction a few years ago. The lamp displays moderate wear to the figural piece and base, including a number of small abrasions. One of the side ends of the lamp shade has partially torn away from the string binding along the base. In Very Good condition overall. Height: 24.5 inches. Base: 8 x 4 x 2 inches. Reserve $300.
