Large-format (20 x 16 inches) photograph capturing twenty-five members of the Philadelphia Athletics, circa 1930, posing together on the field at Shibe Park. Manager Connie Mack is seated in the center, surrounded by such notables as Jimmie Foxx, Al Simmons, Lefty Grove, Eddie Collins, and Mickey Cochrane. The white-letter caption along the base reads "The Philadelphia Athletics/Winners of the American League Pennant." Mack's A's won three consecutive pennants and two World Championships between the years 1929 and 1931, with the 1929 team considered by many as one of the finest clubs ever assembled. The photo displays a few minor border creases and tiny tears; otherwise it remains in spectacular Excellent to Mint condition. Framed to total dimensions of 21.25 x 17 inches. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
