Exceedingly rare oversized Boston Red Sox pennant dating from the club's 1915 World-Championship season. This is the only example of this pennant we have ever seen, which is notable for the fact that all of the lettering is in the form of appliquéd felt, as opposed to paint. The red-and-white pennant features the year ("1915") and a pair of small "red socks" on the left, and the team name ("Red Sox") to the right. This is one of several truly great early pennants in this auction, all from the same advanced collection, and each among the best pennants that we have ever offered. Ideal for display! The pennant (36.5 inches), which is complete with tassels, displays light fading, as well as tack holes in each corner and the tip. Excellent condition overall. Reserve $300. Estimate (open).
