Rare ticket book, containing four unused tickets, issued by the Brooklyn Federal League Base Ball Club for the club's inaugural 1914 season. While all items relating to the short-lived Federal League are scarce, this ticket book is exceedingly rare and the only Brooklyn example we have ever seen (the only other Federal League ticket books we can recall at auction were those issued by Newark and Pittsburgh). These are also the first Brooklyn Federal League tickets we have seen as well. The black-leather book is lettered "Brooklyn Federal League Base Ball Club Season 1914" on the cover. As noted on the interior front cover this is season-ticket book number "991" and was issued to "John Kochendorfer." Produced by the Ambell Ticket Company of Chicago. The book once held seventy-seven tickets, but the four that remain are those for games 74 through 77, which were the final four home games of the season (September 29th through October 3rd against Baltimore). The book (4.25 x 2.25 inches) displays moderate wear, including minor abrasions. In Very Good to Excellent condition overall. Each of the four tickets (4 x 2.25 inches) remains firmly attached to the spine and is in Near Mint to Mint condition. Reserve $500. Estimate (open).
