Oversized New York Giants pennant dating back to the era of Mathewson, McGraw, and McGinnity. This is an exceedingly rare Giants pennant and the first such example we have ever seen, let alone offered. Its rarity notwithstanding, it is equally notable for its attractive design. The colorful graphics feature an illustration of a generic Giants player in throwing pose encircled by a white and pink ribbon. Illustrations of two pennants, one lettered "Giants" and the other "Champions," are pictured, respectively, to the left and right of the player. The large white letters to the right of the image read "N. Y. Giants." This is one of several truly great early pennants in this auction, all from the same advanced collection, and each among the best pennants that we have ever offered. Ideal for display! The blue-felt pennant (34.5 inches), which is complete with tassels, remains in Excellent to Mint condition. Reserve $500. Estimate (open).
