Collection of four color-tinted baseball tintypes, each featuring an individual player. Colored baseball tintypes are scarce, and we can only recall having seen a very small number of other examples. 1) Player posing with a raised bat in an outdoor setting. 2.5 x 3.5 inches. Vg-Ex, with clipped corners and flaking to the image along the base (not affecting the player image). 2) Player in red pants leaning against a bat in a studio setting. 2.5 x 3.5 inches. Vg, wtith wavy borders, flaking along the border areas, and minor oxidation. 3) Player seated in a studio setting. The tintype is housed in what appears to be its original oval mount. An advertisement for the Wormell & Packard photography studio of Nashua, New Hampshire is affixed to the back of the tintype. 1.75 x 2.25 inches. Ex-Mt. 4) Player in blue pants leaning against a bat in a studio setting. A small seat is pictured next to him. 2.5 x 4 inches. Vg, with minor flaking, briefly touching upon the player image, and numerous light creases. Total: 4 tintypes. Reserve $400. Estimate (open).
