Baseball signed by former 1961 Rookie of the Year Ken Hubbs. Hubbs, who was a standout second baseman with the Chicago Cubs, has inscribed the ball "Best Wishes/Ken Hubbs" in black ink (grading "8") on a side panel. Ken Hubbs single-signed balls are exceedingly rare because of this tragic death in an airplane crash at the age of twenty-two in 1964. This is one of only four examples we can recall having seen at auction and the first we have ever offered. The ball, which displays no manufacturer's markings, is heavily soiled. In Very Good condition overall. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300. Estimate (open).
