Pair of books signed on the interior by the legendary "Fordham Flash," Frankie Frisch. What makes these two books especially appealing is that both once resided in Frisch's personal library. 1) The Works of Edgar Allen Poe Volume III - The Literati-Minor Contemporaries, Etc., edited by Edmund Clarence Stedman and George Edward Woodberry (Charles Scribner's Sons, New York, 1914). The interior front cover features Frankie Frisch's personal stamp, which reads "Frankie Frisch/'The Old Flash'/184 Fenimore Road/New Rochelle, N. Y." Frisch has also inscribed the interior front cover in blue ink (grading "9"): "Frank Frisch/184 Fenimore Rd/ New Rochelle-New York/Sat. Feb. 23, 1957." Hard-bound, no dust jacket, Ex. 2) The Last of the Mohicans by James Fenimore Cooper. Part of the Leather-Stocking Edition in Thirty-Two Volumes, hand-numbered "813/1,000." G. P. Putnams Sons, New York (no year listed). Inscribed in blue ink (grading "9") on the front flyleaf "Frank Frisch/184 Fenimore Rd/New Rochelle-New York." Written directly below in pencil, Frisch has added "Read Nov. 10, 1959." There is a library book plate on the interior front cover. Frisch's ownership stamp appears on the book plate. Hard-bound, no dust jacket, Ex. Total: 2 books. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
