On April 11, 1939, as Connie Mack and his Philadelphia Athletics made their way back North for the start of the season on April 20th, the club stopped off in Tarboro, North Carolina, for a testimonial dinner held in honor of the "Tall Tactician." Offered here is a rare twelve-page program from that dinner that has been signed by Connie Mack and his wife, "Katherine A. McGillicuddy (Mack's real name was McGillicuddy). Both of the signatures, grading "9/10," appear on one of two special pages at the rear of the program that were designated for "Autographs." The program (6 x 10.5 inches) displays a light vertical fold and a few light stains on the front cover and a few interior pages (not affecting the signature page). In Very Good condition overall. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300. Estimate (open).
