Original unopened wax box of 1974 O-Pee-Chee baseball containing thirty-six unopened wax packs. The 1974 O-Pee-Chee set is highlighted by the rookie card of Hall of Famer Dave Winfield, and many other stars including Schmidt, Aaron, Ryan, and Jackson. While it is impossible to provide guarantees with reference to grading of unopened material, there is, of course, the very real possibility that within this box are Mint cards. The entire box comes shrink-wrapped by Baseball Card Exchange (owned by Steve Hart, the foremost expert on unopened material). The display box has survived in outstanding condition with bright colors and minimal shelf wear visible. This box is entirely fresh to the hobby, having just been discovered in the family of a former Canadian store owner. This is the first unopened wax box from this series that we have ever offered and the first we have seen offered at public auction in more than a decade. This is a stunning unopened wax box that would make a superb addition to any unopened wax-box collection. Reserve $2,500. Estimate $5,000++.
