Autographed baseball cards, especially those dating to the 1950s, have always been a popular area of collectibles. The offered example is especially desirable: a 1955 Topps Sandy Koufax rookie card (#123), signed by Koufax in black ink (grading "10") across the front. Koufax has long been an elusive signature among modern legends, and his rookie card will always be one of the great classics of card collecting. The combination is rare and will naturally always have great appeal to collectors. Ideally, Koufax's signature appears just under his portrait image, an area which is lighter in color than much of the card and therefore allows for strong contrast (much better, in fact, than even his preprinted facsimile signature on the card). Encapsulated and labeled "Authentic" (referring to the signature) by PSA/DNA. The card is in Very Good to Excellent condition overall. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$600+. SOLD FOR $830
