Four-page fold-over contract, dated January 18, 1952, between Early Wynn and the Cleveland Baseball Company, signed in green ink by "Early Wynn" (grading "10") and in blue ink by "Hank Greenberg" ("10") as general manager. The William Harridge signature on the contract is a stamped facsimile. The one-year contract, for the 1952 season, calls for Wynn to receive a salary of $28,000. Wynn won a career-high twenty-three games in 1952 while posting an ERA of 2.90. One of only twenty-three pitchers to win 300 or more games in his career, he was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1972. 104 of Hall of Fame players are rare and the offered example is no exception. This is the first Wynn contract we have ever offered. The contract (8.5 x 11 inches) displays two notebook holes punched along the left border; otherwise in Excellent to Mint condition. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $1,422
