Graded EX 60 by SGC. Highest-graded example by SGC! Extremely rare sample card of 1955 Felin's Franks, one of the 1950s most mysterious regional card sets. The 4 x 3-5/8 inch round-cornered panels are designed with a player photo on the left, stats on the right, and a bright red border on front and back. The reverse gives details of a contest, and lists contest rules and various prizes available. All Felin's Franks feature Philadelphia Phillies players. This sample card is #4 Whit Wyatt. Virtually every example of Felin's Franks in the collecting world originates from a single small find of approximately sixty cards, which surfaced in the Philadelphia area during the mid-1980s. Over the years, there has been some speculation that this hot-dog set was never released. Robert Edward Auctions is very comfortable going on record that we are absolutely certain this set was never released, and that is why all of the few known examples are so perfectly crisp and clean, with no hot-dog stains or related packaging imperfections. An exceptional high-grade example direct from the original Philadelphia Find. This card is a crisp gem! A lesser example (SGC VG 40) of this card sold at auction a couple years ago (in 2010) for $7,637. Reserve $500. Estimate $2,000++.
