Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Rarely offered ultra high-grade example of condition-sensitive card #1 Jackie Robinson from the popular 1953 Topps set. This is a tremendous "blue chip" card with universal appeal. Bright, crisp, and clean, both front and back, with four sharp corners, a flawless surface, and vibrant colors. The perfectly registered image is centered just a hint to the right. This is the finest and highest grade example we have ever offered. The PSA population report confirms its great rarity in this condition: Of the 1,350 examples graded in the history of PSA, only ten examples have graded higher (one "8.5," eight "9," and one "10"). The 1953 Topps is one of Jackie Robinson's most popular cards. It is also one of the great classics of all early 1950s bubble-gum cards. SMR value is $2,950. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000.
