Complete 72-card set of 1951 Berk Ross "Hit Parade of Champions." 85% Ex to Ex-Mt (with a couple slightly better), 15% slightly lesser. The set features champions and stars of the day from a wide variety of sports. This is a magnificent complete set of one of the few vintage multisport card sets from the era, and is in remarkable condition for this issue. Highlights include many of the greatest names in the history of sport. Three cards are graded by PSA. Keys: #1-3 Phil Rizzuto (Ex-Mt), 1-11 Bob Cousy (Ex), 1-16 Ben Hogan (Ex), 2-1 Stan Musial (EX-MT 6), 2-4 Yogi Berra (EX-MT 6), 2-5 Joe DiMaggio (EX-MT 6), 2-13 Sugar Ray Robinson (Ex), 3-12 Jake LaMotta (Ex), 3-18 Jesse Owens (Vg-Ex), and 4-5 Whitey Ford (Ex). The set was issued in perforated two-card panels, which were designed to be separated along the perforations. This set consists of all single cards. This is a very crisp, sharp, attractive complete set of this substantial early 1950s issue. The 1951 Berk Ross set is among the most interesting and overlooked sets of the era, and in our opinion represents an extraordinary value. Total: 72 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000.
