Graded NM+ 7.5 by PSA. Only example graded at this level by PSA. Very sharp looking, high-grade example of 1941 Play Ball Joe DiMaggio, one of collecting's most famous cards, featuring the "Yankee Clipper" in his familiar swing-through pose. Pack-fresh appearance, with sharp corners, virtually flawless registry, and brilliant colors. As suggested by the PSA NM+ 7.5 grade, this is a much stronger looking card than a PSA NM 7; an insignificant blue background print mark and possibly the slightly low and to the right centering are all that keep this card from grading PSA NM-MT 8. The reverse has natural even toning from age. This card tends to be very difficult to find in high grade because it is #71 of 72 cards in the set. Kids often put these cards in numerical order, naturally subjecting the first and last few card numbers to additional wear. DiMaggio's 1941 MVP season was highlighted by his 56-game hitting streak, a Major League record that stands to this day. This milestone "career year" contributes to the great popularity of Joe DiMaggio's 1941 Play Ball card. SMR value is $5,250. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$4,000+. SOLD FOR $7,110
