Graded NM/MT 88 by SGC. Spectacular super high-grade example of one of the most classic and sought-after of all Joe DiMaggio cards. Four razor-sharp corners, extremely clean, both front and back, with flawless registry (an extremely desirable quality and of particular note with this card), well centered just a hint to the right (approximately 55/45 L/R) and slightly high (approximately 40/60 T/B). This card tends to be very difficult to find in high grade because it is #71 of 72 cards in the set. Kids often put these cards in numerical order, naturally subjecting the first and last few card numbers to additional wear. DiMaggio's 1941 MVP season was highlighted by his 56-game hitting streak, a Major League record that stands to this day. This milestone "career year" contributes to the great popularity of Joe DiMaggio's 1941 Play Ball card. This is an extraordinary example of one of the most desirable of all Joe DiMaggio cards and one of the great classics of card collecting. The equivalent SMR value for the assigned grade is $9,000. Reserve $2,500. Estimate $5,000+. SOLD FOR $7,110
