Graded NM 7 by PSA. Very sharp looking, high-grade example of 1939 Play Ball Joe DiMaggio, one of collecting's most famous cards, featuring the "Yankee Clipper" in a portrait pose. One of card collecting's classics of the era, this is one of the keys to the 1939 Play Ball set, and one of the most popular of all prewar baseball cards. This striking example has four square corners, a crystal clear image, and is centered very slightly to the left. The card has a very light factory print line on DiMaggio's left shoulder. The reverse is perfectly clean with bold black text. An exceptional example of one of the key cards from the 1939 Play Ball set and one of the most popular cards of the era. The SMR value in assigned grade is $1,250. Reserve $400. Estimate $800/$1,200. SOLD FOR $1,185
