Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Extremely high grade example of the ideal classic Babe Ruth bubble-gum card, featuring the Babe in his follow-through batting pose. Strong color and clarity, and crisp registration. The reverse is pure white with bold green print. The card is perfectly centered with four pack-fresh corners. This is one of the most popular and recognizable baseball cards from any era. Considered by many to represent the best value in high grade among the four Babe Ruth cards in the 1933 Goudey set, this card is always greatly sought after, on any short list of the hobby's most classic cards, and, of course, extremely rare to find in such high grade. Of the 897 1933 Goudey #144 Babe Ruth cards graded to date in the entire history of PSA (which is now twenty years of grading!), only five examples have ever graded higher! - one PSA NM-MT+ 8.5 and four PSA MINT 9; there are no PSA 10s. Extremely strong example with the appearance of a Mint card. One of the highest PSA graded examples in the world of one Babe Ruth's most important and highly prized baseball cards. SMR value is $17,650. Reserve $5,000. Estimate $10,000++.
