Collection of seven rare cards (of the 32 in the set) from the 1928 Pacific Coast League Exhibits set. One of the rarest of all Exhibit and PCL card sets, we rarely see even a sample card from the 1928 PCL Exhibit set. This regional issue of thirty-two cards features players from the six California teams in the Pacific Coast League. Similar to the 1928 Major League Exhibits, the PCL cards (3-3/8 x 5-3/8 inches) have a blue tint and are blank-backed. Cards are occasionally found with a clipped corner (none of the cards have clipped corners in this group), due to a stamped coupon on the reverse of some cards which could be clipped and saved for prizes. The collection consists of the following: Bodie (Vg), Finn (Vg), Hufft (Fr), Kallio (Vg), Mails (Gd), Rhodes (Fr-Gd), and Thurston (Fr). Even though these cards are technically in low grade, this is still a very attractive collection of these extremely rare and unusual regional PCL Exhibits from the late 1920s. Total: 7 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $830
