Extremely attractive and overall very high grade collection of sixteen high-quality N172 Old Judges, each graded and encapsulated by SGC (all submitted by REA). This group was carefully hand-picked by us from a larger collection with the intention of presenting a beautiful collection of high-quality Old Judges with outstanding contrast and visual appeal. The SGC grades are as follows: Two EX/NM 80: #84-7 Collins (New York) and 188-1 Gillespie (New York). Five EX+ 70: #15-4 Baldwin (Chicago), 61-1 Cahill (Indianapolis), 132-9 Dorgan (New York), 366-4 Pfeffer (Chicago, 1888 copyright), and 466-1 Tuckerman (St. Paul, 1889 copyright). Nine EX 60: #3-2 Alexander (Des Moines, 1889 copyright), 128-4 Donahue (Kansas City, 1888 copyright), 248-6 Johnston (Boston), 406-2 Seery (Indianapolis), 423-4 Smith (Cincinnati, 1888 copyright), 458-3 Titcomb (New York, 1888 copyright), 461-3 Townsend (Philadelphia, 1888 copyright), 494-1 Whitacre (Philadelphia, 1888 copyright), and 508-3 Wood (Philadelphia). Numbers referenced are provided by the recently published comprehensive Old Judge book. This is an extremely impressive, very clean, and very carefully assembled collection of N172 Old Judges, obviously put together with a concern for contrast and the overall eye-appeal of each card. This is a very sharp-looking group! Total: 16 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,500++.
