Four different players from the T3 Turkey Red cabinet series, each of which has been graded EX 5 by PSA. This is a very clean and remarkably attractive group of high-quality T3s. Two have the Turkey Red advertisement and two have the checklist back. PSA EX 5 is a particularly high grade for T3s (far more so than other tobacco cards in similar condition from the era). The collection is comprised of the following: 1) #37 Slim Sallee (checklist back; only three cards graded higher ); 2) 88 Harry Coveleski (Turkey Red ad back; only two cards graded higher ); 3) 109 Pat Moran (Turkey Red ad back; only example graded at this level with only one graded higher ); and 4) 114 Bob Rhodes (checklist back; only two cards graded higher ). Turkey Red cabinets are universally recognized as one the most highly regarded and beautiful baseball-card issues ever produced. Each of these four cards would be very much at home in any world-class T3 collection or set. This is an extremely attractive high-grade group of cards from one of tobacco-card collecting's most classic sets. SMR value for the assigned grades is $3,000 ($750 each). Total: 4 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000+. SOLD FOR $3,851
