Graded EX 5 by PSA. One of just thirteen graded at this level by PSA, with only one example graded higher. T3 Turkey Red cabinet cards are among the most impressive and desirable cards of the era. Chase was, in fact, a major star of the day, but his involvement with gambling and unsavory characters undermined his legend, and ensured that he would forever remain a "non-Hall of Famer." The card has only the slightest hint of light, even wear to the corners and a tiny mark on the bottom border. It is remarkably crisp and clean, with bold colors, and perfect registration. The checklist-back of the card is perfectly clean with flawless bold black text. This is a very attractive high-grade example from one of card collecting’s most highly prized early twentieth-century cabinet-card issues. The SMR value is $1,000. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
