High-quality pair of 1910-era Hall of Famers from two different extremely rare and highly regarded related issues: Williams Baking and Rochester Baking, each with the "1910 World's Champions" overprint. 1) D359 Rochester Baking Connie Mack (SGC GOOD 30). One of the key rarities of the set. This card appears to be in Vg+ condition and has apparently been downgraded due to the "Canceled" ink stamp on the reverse. (That is no doubt related to the offer on the premium offer on the back of the card and does not in the least detract in our opinion; in fact, we believe many collectors would prefer the unusual and rare "Canceled" ink overprint on reverse.) 2) D359 Williams Baking Eddie Collins (SGC GOOD 30). Very attractive Hall of Famer from this rare bakery issue with an ideal boldly printed Williams Bread advertising reverse. Bold colors. Also one of the key cards in the set. Each of these two cards has an appearance stronger than its technically accurate SGC-assigned grade. These are beautiful Hall of Famer examples from these rare sets, which feature only Philadelphia Athletic players and were issued to commemorate the 1910 Championship season. The very same images of these A's players were used for similar sets issued by E104-1 Nadja and T208 Cullivan's Fireside Tobacco. Total: 2 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000++. SOLD FOR $3,851
