Graded VG/EX 50 by SGC. Brown Hindu back T206 Hall of Famer example. Portrait pose of Hall of Famer Johnny Evers from the T206 White Borders series, with a brown Hindu advertising reverse. Hindu (brown) is a very scarce back, not as rare as Red Hindu, but very unusual and extremely rare compared to most other T206 advertising backs. This is a very clean example of Johnny Evers. The card is bright and crisp, both front and back, with no creases, bold color, and even wear to the corners. Centered 60/40 left to right. The reverse is perfectly clean with bold brown print against an off-white background. Submitted for grading by REA. Interesting provenance note: This is one of just several cards offered separately (the others are Magie, O'Hara, Demmitt, and Cobb/Red Bkgd) from the T206 set in this auction that once accompanied the "The Connecticut Wagner" (sold at REA in 2010) and Plank (sold at REA in 2011). This is a very interesting rare-back variety of this classic Johnny Evers card from the premier tobacco-card set of the era. Reserve $400. Estimate $800+.
