Very unusual and diverse collection of six baseball cards, dating from 1889 to 1949, including representation from five different issues. These are the (recently discovered) remnants from a large collection which we sold many years ago. The collection was very substantial, and these few cards were just recently discovered by the family (having been overlooked years earlier). This explains the extremely unusual diversity of the group. Fortunately, the small group includes some very good cards! The six cards span six decades and are highlighted by four Hall of Famers. 1) 1889 N172 Old Judge: #466-4 Tuckerman, St. Paul (Gd). 2) 1895 N300 Mayo's Cut Plug: Fred Pfeffer (heavy back damage, otherwise Ex-Mt). Pfeffer is an especially interesting card in the Mayo set because it was issued two ways: one listing him as "Pfeffer: 2nd. B." and the other identifying him as "Pfeffer: Retired." This is the first card of Pfeffer issued by Mayo, listing him as "Pfeffer: 2nd. B.," prior to his formal status as retired, and is therefore also his final card issued as a player. 3) 1911 T205 Gold Border: John McGraw (HOF, Gd). 4) 1948 Bowman (2 cards): #5 Bob Feller (HOF, Vg-Ex) and 18 Warren Spahn rookie (HOF, Vg+). 5) 1949 Bowman: #224 Satchel Paige (HOF, Vg-Ex). This is a very interesting small group of quality cards with many having eye-appeal far superior to their technically accurate grades, including a particularly sharp-looking 1949 Bowman of Hall of Famer Satchel Paige. Total: 6 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $1,067
