Unusual collection of three different postcards from the 1910-era, representing two different issues, featuring Hall of Famers Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson, and Tris Speaker. This group was part of a small collection of baseball items (comprised of ten postcards including a 1915 Red Sox team card with Ruth and a 1912 World Series program) that have long been family keepsakes and were personally saved at the time of issue by a member of our consignor's Boston-area family. 1 & 2) 1915 M101-3 Sporting News (PC757) Postcards: Ty Cobb (key card in the set, tack holes on top and bottom, otherwise Vg-Ex), and Walter Johnson with Street (Vg-Ex/Ex). 3) 1912 Boston American Series Red Sox Postcard: Tris Speaker (key card in the set, tack holes on top and bottom, otherwise Vg/Vg-Ex with a pencil mark on back). All three cards have never been mailed and have no writing on their traditional postcard reverses. This is a very unusual assemblage of key Hall of Famers from two different classic postcard issues. Also included is a postcard of the "American League Base Ball Park" of New York (addressed and mailed on the reverse). Total: 4 cards. Reserve $200. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $2,015
