This collection of vintage Hollywood signatures is comprised of five signed photos, a letter, a membership application to The Masquers, and a check, all of which are individually housed in framed displays. All are highlights! Each and every piece in this collection is a high-quality item. All have been chosen with great care for inclusion in the personal collection of the very discriminating collector that assembled it. Unless otherwise noted, all of the signed photos offered in the collection appear to date from the 1930s or 1940s. 1) Charlie Chaplin.
One-page typed letter (6 x 7.5 inches), dated November 5, 1952, written during his exile from the United States. To a Mr. W. Jones. In full: "Dear Friend, Thank you very much for your warm expression of friendship. I am sure that your greeting will enable me to enjoy, all the more, my visit to England. Sincerely, Charles Chaplin [signed]." Chaplin's blue fountain-pen signature grades "8." Vg-Ex, with horizontal and vertical mailing folds and a few areas of light toning. Matted and framed together with a recent print of Chaplin in a scene from The Gold Rush

Personal check (8.25 x 3.25 inches), dated October 3, 1947, made out to "Clark Gable" (typed) in the amount of $300. Signed by Clark Gable in black fountain pen (slight bleeding to the "G," otherwise "10"). Gable's name is printed along the top border and the check is drawn on the Security-First National Bank of Los Angeles. Ex, with normal bank cancellation stamps and perforations (some of which touch upon the signature). Mounted (by means of photo corners) and framed together with a recent print of Gable to total dimensions of 15.5 x 21.25 inches. 3) Errol Flynn.
Classic studio publicity photo (7 x 9 inches) inscribed in black fountain pen "Hello Lois/Errol Flynn" ("8/9"). Three small, very light, circular indentations in the upper right corner; otherwise in apparent Near Mint condition. Matted and framed to total dimensions of 12.25 x 15.5 inches. 4) Edward G. Robinson.
Movie still, inscribed in black fountain pen "To/ _____(first name illegible) Bendt/All good wishes/Edward G. Robinson ("8/9"). In apparent Near Mint condition. Matted and framed to total dimensions of 11.75 x 13.75 inches. 5) Edward G. Robinson.
Classic studio publicity photo (7 x 9 inches) flawlessly inscribed in black fountain pen "To/Maxine Baer/With all good wishes/Edward G. Robinson" ("10"). In apparent Near Mint condition. Matted and framed to total dimensions of 15.5 x 17.5 inches. 6) James Cagney.
Signed application form to The Masquers. Membership application form (7 x 5.5 inches) to The Masquers, dated July 10, 1933, signed in black fountain pen ("9") by "James Cagney" as applicant. Also signed by James Seymour and Frank McHugh as sponsors. The Masquers is a fraternal organization of actors that is still in existence today. As noted at the bottom, Cagney was accepted to the club on August 14, 1933. In apparent Ex-Mt condition, with staple holes in the upper left corner. Framed together with a recent print (7 x 9 inches), reproduced from a studio publicity photo, that bears a secretarial Cagney signature. Total dimensions of 14 x 21.5 inches. 7) Tyrone Power.
