Pictured here on this 1935 H&B promotional poster is a lineup that would be the envy of any major league club: Lou Gehrig, Jimmie Foxx, Charlie Gehringer, Joe Cronin, Hank Greenberg, Mickey Cochrane, Goose Goslin, Arky Vaughan, Freddie Lindstrom, Augie Galan, Joe Vosmik, and Frank DeMaree. As the poster makes clear in its bold headline, the one thing these players all have in common is their choice of lumber: "Scintillating Stars of 1935 who made their glowing records with ONE MAKE of BAT." A large illustration of the famous H&B center brand logo appears at the top. This poster, which is double-sided, was issued folded and sent by mail to various retailers and customers. A quarter-segment of the reverse pictures an all-star lineup of former players who have used Louisville Slugger bats, including Honus Wagner, George Sisler, Ty Cobb, Tris Speaker, and Nap Lajoie, while the bottom half features a pictorial article on former bat maker and now general superintendent of H&B Henry W. ("Pa") Bickel. This poster was originally mailed from Chicago and is addressed to "Roland L. Edie/High School/Hebron, Neb." This is an extremely rare poster. In fact, it is the first example we have ever seen. The poster (15.75 x 21.75 inches), printed on thin paper stock, displays normal machine-folds as issued and remains in remarkable Excellent to Mint condition. This is an outstanding H&B retail display and one that would appeal to both bat and baseball-advertising collectors. Reserve $500. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $2,015
